YOLO...but also be healthy
We've all heard the phrase YOLO, "You Only Live Once.” It's a cry for adventure, for seizing the day, and for living life to the fullest. And after experiencing the profound pain that comes with confronting mortality, I can tell you that sentiment hits different.
The reality that our time here is fleeting has a way of putting things into perspective. It's like an alarm clock goes off, reminding you that there's no dress rehearsal for life. This realization sparked a fire within me to live with no regrets. I want to chase every dream, embrace every opportunity, and experience everything within my grasp. From trying new foods to exploring far-off lands, to simply spending quality time with loved ones…the impulse to soak it all in is stronger than ever.
But here's the ccrucial part that we often forget…life is fragile, and your health is the most important key to unlocking all those experiences. It's easy to get caught up in the thrill of the moment and forget that true freedom to live fully comes from a place of well-being.
What good is a bucket list full of adventures if your body isn't up to the task? How can you truly savor new experiences if you're constantly battling fatigue or illness? Your health is the foundation upon which all your aspirations are built.
You have to find balance. Prioritizing your well-being isn't a limitation; it's an empowerment.
It means making choices today that will allow you to continue living vibrantly tomorrow. It's about fueling your body with nourishing foods, moving regularly, prioritizing sleep, and managing stress. It's about listening to your body and seeking care when you need it.
Today I had to embrace the term YOLO and recognize that I am not invincible or miraculous. I am human. I have to take care of this one body that I’ve been gifted and heal. Today I realized it’s not and / or, it’s both.
Today I committed to healing my health and self. ✨️💖
