I wish

I cried today at work. I used to cry a lot at work in my previous life, so it really caught me off guard.

I was having a conversation with a colleague. She spoke about disconnecting from her computer and laptop when she gets home because she has a needy husband.

When the conversation was over, I went to the bathroom to cry. I wish I would have used more of my time being attentive to DT when he was still alive and healthy. I wish I would have spent more time just sitting and talking to him. I wish that I realized that we only have a limited amount of time with the ones we love and that we should safeguard that time as if it is the most precious thing ever.

I wish

That’s why I laugh and smile as much as I can these days. The stress of work and trying to balance it all, took so much joy and time away from my life with DT.

And sometimes the guilt and regret smothers me.

Nevertheless, I am grateful for the life we shared and knowing that he loved and supported me.

I am reminded to do things differently and to enjoy every moment because life is precious.
